In Season from Intelligentsia Coffee

February 1, 2010

What’s in season, you ask? Just like farm-fresh fruits and vegetables from the farmer’s market–here’s what is seasonally-fresh and brewing for mid-winter at Saint’s:

Agua Preta, Brazil

Solid milk chocolate, vanilla bean and pecan make Agua Preta remarkably comforting. Finishes with charming notes of dry spice and roasted hazelnut.

Ikirezi Burundi: Kirundo Muyinga

Notes of green apple, citrus zest, and clementine orange create a lasting impression on the palate. A finish of honey reinforces the cleanliness.

Ikirezi, Burundi: Ngozi

Ngozi has the acidity of fresh apples: bright and well-structured. Notes of pear, maple syrup and fudge ready you for a finish of crystallized ginger.

Zirikana, Rwanda: Bufcafe

Peach nectar precedes a honeyed mouthfeel and an extended flavor of grape, lime and nectarine. A finish of cacao and walnut frame the experience.

Zirikana, Rwanda: Rusenyi

Tropical fruit notes followed by a mango, nectarine, and pure citrus finish. Paired with a wonderful presence of molasses.
